Default Buying a wedding dress (for her not me)

On the off chance does anyone know a wedding dress shop that doesnt charge you to try on dresses?
The Mrs wants to try these two dresses she has seen, every shop we call said if they have to get it into stock for her to try she has to pay £70 per dress.

I know its only £140 and this is a fraction of what she will no doubt end up spending on Tims credit card but I just htink its a cheeky charge and want to try and bypass paying the robbing sods and extra money.

Cheers
Tim.

Sorry to be obvious but why not find a shop that has it already in stock? or go to a shop and look at there stock that they already have? Knowing women and it happened to my Mrs, the dresses she saw in pictures looked nothing like what they did when she tried them on. My Mrs just had her first fitting (getting hitched in 6 weeks) She never had to pay anything to try dresses on

We called about 20 shops and they dont have this certain dress in. You are 100% right, she wont want it when she tries it on but until that time I get my ear bent everytime we talk weddings.

Assuming that you're in Surrey (from the location!), I know my wife got hers from Mamfi Bridal in Knaphill (Woking way). They had a good range in, no charge for trying anything on, decent service, and even decorated her crutches free of charge - she had a snapped achilles tendon stitched back together 2 weeks before the big day. (that last bit is a good something to bring up if the Mrs-to-be is telling you somethings a disaster. Didn't spoil the day at all. Although it did make for some slightly fraught preparations and a postponed honeymoon!)

Charging £70 for a look at a dress sounds quite ridiculous. Hope those other places come up trumps. Best that she does all the choosing too I reckon!

Don't go near the wedding centre in Marlow. I had a nightmare with them.

Alison's dress was £600 - which is fair enough. But they don't tell you ALL alterations are extra.

We hired 7 suits from them up - they screwed them all up except mine. We had to get some made from scratch the morning of the wedding.

Not one apology.

Bit of a colloquial term for your bride-to-be isn't it?

I went there when I was looking for my posh frock.

I have to say, it was like a jumble sale. All the dresses were filthy and the staff weren't much help at all. Tried on a couple, because I'd travelled a way to get there, but basically got out pretty sharp-ish. It was nine years ago, so maybe they've improved.

How much

I don't believe them. Most of these places can get the dress to try, if it is no good it goes back. Classic case of trying it on. (no pun intended)

Something as special as this will involve looking and trying loads of dresses, if she is anything like I was
I would accept it, if and only if they took the money off the dress, if she decided it was the one she wanted. Other than that, sorry, but you will just have to look around. Good luck

I have had experience with them twice and never had one problem at all. 1 for my own wedding and they couldn't have been more helpful and the other for my best mate and again brilliant.

We have had a bit of joy, One place will order in the two she wants to try on, She has to pay £50 but they will give her a credit note for the same amount to use of any dress from there shop.
No wonder weddings cost so much, everything doubles as soon as you mention the W word.

Ps, I only had the new avatar as I was going to monkey world today, It was rubbish so I am changing it to something less disappointing.
