Default May I introduce you to the...(warning watch related)

Marathon C-Sar .

It is a little known, BIG Canadian, military watch.

Movement is the tried and tested 7750 ETA Valjoux Automatic, 25 jewel and Swiss made.

Movement is non-magnetic and has minimum 36 hour running reserve.

Movement has 'Date & Day' display with 'Quick Date and Day change'.

Chronograph has 1/5 second (100th minute) timing.

The case construction ensures a 300M/1000ft water resistance by using Screw-Down Crown and Screw-Down Side pushers.

Case diameter is 44.5mm and high turning bezel is 46.6mm. Case is made of 316L Stainless Steel and has a sapphire crystal face.

Dial display shows standard and supplemental time 1 – 12 (13 – 24); also, dial displays Date and Day.

Chronograph timing is dual graduated, inner graduations are 1/5 sec and as well as decimal 1/100minute timing (alternate inner timing ring). Sweep Second hand indicates timing in 1/5 sec (&/or 1/100 minute) up to 60 sec (1 minute); Chronograph sub registers measure up to 30 minutes and 12 hours each.

Register indexes & hands use MARAGLO paint for night viewing. Encapsulated tritium (Isotope H3) light sources are used for dial at each hour position as well as the Minute and Hour hands.. Why they didnt use Tritium on the register fingers and markers is a let down, I suspect it is because the tritium viles are thick, so when stacking the hands this would have caused interferance problems.

Chronograph timing:

1/5 second and 1/100th minute timing divisions
Time-out 2 button function: with independent start/stop and zero reset buttons
0 to 30 minutes (30 minute register at 12 o’clock position)
Small sweep second (at 9 o’clock position)
0 to 12 hours (12 hour register at 6 o’clock position)

The revolving external bezel is calibrated from 0 to 60 in white on black background. The thickness of the bezel is outstanding.

Enjoy...

I dont know what you mean by "minty", but it has a solid case rear so maybe that is why there is not much in the way of engine turning/engraving/decoration.

I do like decoration on a movement if the case has a Crystal back/observation case.

My Chase-Durer Abyss has tasteful decoration to the movement..yet its not the finest movement I own.

And a clearer one of the C-SAR.

Minty means expensive. I collect watches for the watchmaking, rather than the bling: if you know what I mean? Decoration isnt that important to me.

Me too, I dont do stones or precious metal, I like the engineering side of it.

I would love to see your collection, and show off mine, but this isnt the place, you will get hundreds of complaints from Casio owners, or people who use the sun to tell the time.

Ah well, any dog threads to read ?

Ooooh! amongst many other watches I own a casio(Oceanus) and would never complain about seeing quality timepieces displayed proudly on here.

By the way, LOVE the C-Sar. exactley the look I prefer to go for in watches although not exclusively.

I am a bit worried about the build quality, and the fact they use Citizen movements in their quartz models.

They have chosen that watch as their sales pitch photo, yet the 'day' and 'date' windows dont line up.

Im so much of a perfectionist when it comes to watches, its almost embarrassing.

So if I can get one for say less than £200 would I be onto a good deal?

By the way the date windows line up perfectley in the one I'm after.
