Just out of curiosity can you elaborate how you fixed yours? Ours broke recently, and fortunately we received a new unit under warranty. Still, it would be nice to fix the old unit if its an easy fix (and no its not batteries).

Funny as I broke mine somehow on Sunday morning. The battery cover got jammes on so I thought I'd try and bend the remote to release it. But snapped the whole bloody thing in half!!!

We pay that SKY repair plan and called them Sunday but we are still waiting for another remote?

Ours died after 2 years, with two small children (+ us so called adults) i think it did well all things consdiered.

ordered a new one from here, cheapest and reccommended to me. eBay UK Shop - BuyMe24BuyMe: CABLE, SKY PLUS REMOTE, JEWELLERY BY AMFD

I would not bother with the non gen replacements, got one from Tesco for around a tenner, its range is ****e and it keeps loosing its programming on a regular basis.

Sometimes the Sky box will lock out and makes it look as though the handset is TU. If you unplug the Sky box from the mains and then rconnect it will usually reboot itself and work again.

This happened to a 6 month old Thompson Sky+ box I had on a Multi-room contract, in the end after proving it wasn't the remote (it worked fine on the Sky+ HD box) and having anopther remote sent out after speaking to the Sky people on the phone, the unit had to replaced by a PACE.
