On the way home from work tonight, got pinged by a camera doh, what sort of timescale should i expect before a ticket arrives on my doorstep and ruins my day (Assuming the camera had film in it!)
Any experiences?
Cheers

NIP has to be issued with 14 days of offence, so if you hear nothing for 2 1/2 weeks, you're ok. I've noticed (thru others) that if you've been busted, then you should get something thru the post within a week - these people are quick...
Also note only 1 in 4 drivers actually get a NIP after being flashed.
As for strip searches, never heard any cases, but wouldn't rule it out.

Oh Dear - mine was 2 years ago but i can still remember that sick feeling! mine appeared on the 14th day - the only good thing was the speedo on the car i owned read over 100mph but i was only doing 88mph (in a 60mph). just overtaken and was slowing down(2 am in the morning) - only 3 points and a £40 fine.

only 3 points and a 40 fine? got bloody fined that whilst going on the paevment to park on my moped! only strolled about 3 metres!
my mate had delays for about 3 months b4 he heard anything..but sometimes the cameras ain't got no film so you could be lucky.

"was 2nd fastest person caught in Sussex".....come on Toby you know that 2nd is 1st loser......go for gold(no pun intended)
Just as well it wasn't recent or you would be locked up and become a 'sausage jockey' in a very small cell
Where was it m8, I've been flashed by 3 now and never got anything through post
See ya Sat

About 5years ago I got an NIP 3months after the incident!!!!!
It was for 60 in a 30... I was young and it was a dual carrigeway... honest...
3points and £40 fine... for 60 in a 30 so I sent the money and my licence off quick, before they changed there mind.
I didn't at the time know about the 14days in which the NIP has to arrive... dunno if I would have had the ***** to question it though and still be releaved to keep my licence etc...
Good luck...

As well as the 14 day rule,I have been told(but not sure if its true)that if it is so far over the limit that you have to go to court then you have to be charged within 6 months.

If there were two people in the car, you simply can't remember who was driving at that point.
It is up to the CPS to prove who was - not you to prove who wasn't.
This was my experience last time one of the company cars got an NIP.

I must hold the hertfordshire speed record, 106mph on ware high street, case got thrown out due to unsubstanciated evidence, basically they couldnt justify that i had reached that speed on that stretch of road!!! at that time of night 21:30 friday....
p.s. the actual time was 23:30 and was noted wrongly and i was on my old blade....

Moral of my story is... never slow down to the speed limit and expect the fire engine sirens behind you to go past, just to find out it was the police!!!!!!!!

Or don't be stupid enough to do 106mph in a 30!
That is just stupid and you should have been booked for that mate!
Especially if it was a high street... I thought my 60 in a 30 on a dual carrige was was stupid enough!
