Default Name some technology that will happen within the next 20 years ?

Just keep it to 1 prediction per person instead of people putting forward quite a few suggestions.

I`ll start off with this one, i think new born babies will be chipped at birth in a similar way to the chips that animals have. We are being watched more and more these days and by putting a chip into humans it will cut down on serious crime as the chip will tell the authorities where a person was at all times.

They can make a missile hit a 10 pence piece from hundreds of miles away so i`m sure in the near future that they will be able to tell where a person was on any certain date to within an inch.

The Eu will have a system to tell them where anyone is at any time of the day and how much we earn and have got saved up as well!

I predict that my local council will have the technology to actually work out where the potholes are and then with the advances in tarmac, be able to fill them in. All this would then be possible in under 2 weeks.

I know, seemingly impossible you say, but in the future anything could happen !!

hopefully wireless power will be advanced enough to not just charge mobile gadgets, but also run home appliances. and by 2050 there won't be the need for batteries because of wireless power nodes in the streets.

... we'll all be identifiable by our massive tumors from cell degradation from all these wireless systems

Ewwwwwwwwwww again.

All dogs will be microchipped, (saw it on the news this morning)

But cats will continue to be able to crap in their neighbours' gardens with impunity

Default Virtual Immersive therapies

I think the advancements in vitual reality will lead to virtual immersive therapies. It will be used to help people with phobias, OCD etc.

it will be interesting to see where mobiles phones head.

we'll certainly use mobiles as our primary access to the interweb, but with such teeny screens I wonder if we'll all be wearing wireless eye piece extensions to provide decent screen real estate.

I will go with the wireless electricty / charging.

Technology has moved on sufficiently in the last couple of years that now makes it possible but it is still to cumbersome. Making it smaller and safer and then off we go. Which will be great as I'm fed up with a sea of wires to charge things.

If they invent total immersion, you can bet it will involve **** within a few years of its invention. The biggest earner the world over is sex.

Least thats what I'm hoping for anyway

A second mention of this? Presumably in all seriousness??

I'll bet ANYONE any part of £10,000 that you won't see anything like that within the next 25 years, at least not as some sort of routine procedure. Actually make it £100,000.

You lot scare me. What else do you believe will happen??

My prediction is nanobots ... when they are introduced, the entire world will be turned into a grey sludge. We're doomed I tell ye.

Does it bother anyone else that labs are striving and competing to make machines autonomously thinking with advancing AI (spider legged voice targeting mines, drone aircraft, etc) ? Terminator anyone?

We'll probably all be ooze by then due to some man made virus that gets leaked.

Even though the modern robots they've created look impressive, am i right in saying that cognitively they're about as advanced as an amoeba?
