All chocolate bars have shrunk over the years - the reason the manufacturers do it is so they don't have to put the price up, they just give you less for the same money.
I bought a mars bar a couple of weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure my hands haven't doubled in size since I was a teenager, so they must be getting smaller.

The manufacturers won't REALLY be knocking nearly 20% off the size of their products, not when inflation is only 2%? Will they?
Easy extra money for the dishonest gits.
Same as LV, who tried to put my insurance, contents and cars, up by nearly 20% this year. Needless to say, I'm not with them any more

Its healthier stuff too. Tracker packets about twice the length of the bar these days.
I'm blaming them for the weight I've lost since I got back from holiday.

theres a candy maker in japan who make 100 yen tubes of sweets and there synonymous with keeping their products the same weight and price for over 30 years. What they do is look for new ways to make their product for less than they do now.
example: they make a tube of sweets which are made of the same type of candy that we get those fake kids cigarettes in, but they come in small pellets.
To make them more profitable and keep the price the same they reduced the number you got per box by 2 so now you get 48 but they increased the overall size so you get the same weight as 50. but because the size is bigger and the packaging time is shorted. About 0.005 seconds per box, they can make more boxes in a shift and make more keep the profit margins the same and therefore the price the same.
perhaps this is something they should look at here instead of making their products smaller!

Dosent it make you laugh, when they peddle out the
"we've reduced the pack size rather than put the price up"
lol How about,
"well seeing as you've kept our profit margins inflated since we started
producing this bar, we thought we would absorb the increasing costs as to
give our loyal customers the the same amount".
Then you have to laugh, when they blame the economy for lost sales...
No, its sod all to do with the economy, its the fact that punters are fed up
being taken for a ride lol

The most laughable explanation I heard was on the news a few weeks back when they were discussing "Rising costs of manufacturing chocolate bars".
When the chocolate manufacturers association representative was asked about shrinking bar sizes he said "It had nothing to do with the rising costs of raw materials but more to do with his members' concern for the health of the nation by reducing the calories in their favourite snacks! (by reducing the bar)" so they don't get so obese.
I laughed so hard I nearly choked on my Curly Wurly
May be that's also why you only get half a packet of crisps these days? Wait for the pubs to start selling you a pint with only half a pint of beer in the glass "Its for the good of your liver!!!"
So he doesn't think they might buy 2 bars instead then or a "KING SIZE" one............ Do they really think the consumer is that stupid?
