Ok, so i have a HTC hero, and to use google lattitude (never used it i was just playing around) i had to create a google mail account.

I had done this but diddnt take note of it as i use hotmail anyway.

long story short, i entered the wrong unlock pattern to access the phone(like a pincode but snazzier ) , and its blocked the phone. rather than asking for a pin code its asking for my google account information.

I have a google account that is working on the google site but it will not work on my phone and i now cannot use the phone.

Does anybody know anything about these phones?

What is scary is that i work in the phone shop where i got it from, and our dedicated customer services/technical support are clueless.

HTC arent open until monday so i cannot phone them, and i cant find a way to contact google.

Any thing appreciated. I'm one of these annoying young people who cannot live without a mobile


(ps i dont want to do a master reset as everything is stored on the phone and i cant lose it)

Oops! Maybe you should have backed it all up

Hope it's fixed soon, but as you work in the shop and don't even know how to sort it , it all sounds rather doomed!

If you create google account you have to give setup email address. My guess is your hotmail one? From that you should be able to recover username etc. Then look at the phone!
