Help turning Fog light into Parking Light
Guys i need advice as i'm terrible with electrics, my cars driving/parking lights are dead as a door nail and my cars booked in to get a replacement Body control unit late next week but i will be working nights from money onwards
As a temperary measure so people can see the back of my car at night how would i reduce to brightness of my fog light so it looked like a standard rear driving/parking light?
Cheers in advance! I just don't wanna get rear ended at night or done by the Police.

You could probably replace the bulb with a 5w tail type, but the fogs will only operate when the headlamps are turned on...
Anything you use should be LED based. Something like a bicycle lamp with a constant output, connected to the cigar lighter using an eBay adapter (3v or whatever). Thisll certainly last (nearly forever) without sny starting issues.

Cheers Simon and Sunny, going to try a 5w bulb in it for starters, if no luck then i'll see if i can pick up something in Halfords to putin the back window.
The only thing worse than Alfa Romeos, is Alfa Romeo's customer service centres. Could have had this rectified today if they knew their ***** from their elbows.

In the UK, it is law that, with main/high/full beams on, the (Only the rear I think) fog lights are turned off, automatically. It's in the wiring, go try it. When you "dip" your front lights, the rear fog lights come on, if on. It's the only country I know this law is applied, and applied in the manufacturing process too. It's sensible actually, as with main/high/full beams in fog, more light is reflected back into your field of view. I discovered this when converting a 4cyl, 5sp manual LandRover to V8, 4sp auto.
Mind you fog didn't stop a minibus driver sometime in 1994 from driving so close to my LandRover rear end, I could see the markings on his tie, albeit in red. Adshole!
And in Australia, we get morons driving with their rear "high intensity" rear lights on at night, no fog. Fog, in Sydney...lmao....

It certainly isnt. I was just reading the MOT manual as Im about to have a daylight hours MOT: and it clearly states that the rear fog lamp may operate independently of the headlamps.
