Am I missing something here, or am I just a c***
Im already guessing the latter of the 2.
OK short version of a long story.
Since surgery in April I have not used my car. Still all legal though.
During the last few months my sisters car played up, and she asked could they borrow mine for a few days.
No problem, car went round to hers. But then I find out she is still in fact driving her own car, and her boyfriend is using mine to commute. I can live with that, she has the kids, and he works miles away. Besides I still cant drive it properly anyway.
Last month the MOT ran out. After having the car for 6 weeks already, I asked her if they could run it thru an MOT if they wanted to keep using it.
They did so, but my sister was moaning like hell about it.
This month the tax runs out.
Now this is the big question. With my hand still not right, and having more surgery in November, I have no use for the car, so they can keep it til about January when I should hopefully have use of my hand properly again.
She is asking me if I am going to tax the car, she knows that I cant drive it, and wont be using it til Jan.
Monthly its already costing me £80 to keep it insured and legal for them to drive.
So.... should I be taxing it for them to use for the next 6 months?
Personally im fuming about it. Im lending her a car for nothing, other than on road costs. Sure it will be filthy and worn out when I finally get it back. So I have asked for it back NOW!

I agree completely mate. If I was borrowing a car off friend/family for that period of time I'd just tax it myself. I wouldn't even ask the owner I'd just assume I am using it so should tax it. The cheek.

lol I kinda expected that from you Ant, but its ok, I still have the pictures you sent to the wrong Blackberry the other night. Your poor missus ! Ant aka "Slugger" and not cos he is a fighter
Anyway, back on track here. Cheers guys. I thought I might have been being an ****, as she is family and all.
lol @ servicing it. They didnt even change a blown headlight bulb til the MOT !
Another part of the story is...
She is 7 months pregnant, has 2 older kids at 2 schools miles apart.
When she has the baby she is gonna have a 10 and 12 year old miles apart, and a baby to get about with. As well as trying to have a normal life.
I ran it by her one more time, was she SURE they did not wanna keep it and tax it. All she said was how much is it to tax, and how are we splitting it.
She really dont get it !
Simon its just a Citroen Picasso. I bought it cos I can carry mum about in it easier, and handy for the dogs too. Not taken the dogs to the park for months now as I have no way of getting them there.
Glad I was on the right train of thought
Cheers guys. (f**k you Ant)

lol Yoza, im not expecting it to, to be fair. It can come back with a couple of dinks and dents, and needing a little hoover out for all I care, but just the failure to observe the basics of courtesy.
I would not be suprised if she returns it to me with an invoice for all the petrol they HAD to buy for MY car.
lol @ reporting it stolen, based on the ANPR operations we get around here, I would not wish that on many people.
Tel, stop stop ! lol

Now Ive realised its a Picasso, I think you should ask her to keep the doors unlocked and the key in the ignition..
Much better with this kind of vehicle to put the fuel on the interior, and smoke.

Snazy are you in fact ******** Ant or is this really a genuine spat?
Ant, it's all well and good to say that, but why should Snazy tax a car that he wouldn't even be using? Just because it's his sister? I'm not sure you really would fill it up with petrol too. C'mon.

We know about your sister Snazy from what you have told us before and how she was only too happy to take advantage of your ill mother.
What you are saying is hardly surprising and i think you have already done more than enough. There is no way you can fairly be expected to tax it or even to share the cost purely for her partner's convenience.
I think your first reaction was correct. Take the car back and stop them from taking advantage of you as well!

To be honest I would have lent them the scooby if I still had it, and would prob be less suprised at the reluctance to tax it, given how much they cost to tax. But this is just a 1.8.. Hardly gonna break the bank.

Yes I'm joking she's taking the **** big time. She'll soon pay for tax when she's pissed off catching buses.
