AFAIK yes you can
on some flighs large people are made to buy the seat next to them , and some flights make you pay full price for another seat if you have a small child

1. Yes you can but you may not be guaranteed 2 seats together.
2. On Southwest Airlines if you buy 2 and the plane isn't full, you get the cost if the 2nd seat back.

You can on BA, make them aware when you book it and they will link the two seats together for you so they are next to each other, I think you dont pay Airport tax etc on the second seat either if they are both for one person but not 100% on that

I have to book two seats (6ft 7 and 25 stone) if going cattle class or premium economy and usually have a few cross words with the stewardess due to them not always being together, but it does vary from airline to airline. (Easyjet = ****)

Thanks. Due to me leaving everything too late, I'm having to fly fecking Thomas Cook airlines. Not only that, but they won't let me BUY a seat for my infant (16 months), meaning keeping the monster on my lap for hours on cramped seats.
Don't know why, as BA allows you to.
Anyway, my plan was to try and buy two seats for myself, and then plonk my infant on it after take off.
So that should work? If I book on line, I just book two tickets with exactly the same name (ie mine or wifes)?
Thanks

FFS! Some muppet told my wife that we couldn't buy a seat for the infant.
I've been trying to get through to them for 3 days (no joke) to try and find out whether I could buy myself two seats. Not one of the northern call centre monkeys could answer my questions. That's after hanging on the phone for up to 50 mins at a time.
After all that, I see on the small print on the website that I can buy a seat for the infant!
So I hang on the phone again for 50 mins to book the flights. When they answer the phone its the same **** for brains tart, who said I probably couldn't buy two seats but then never got back to me to confirm. When I spoke to her first, I explained I wanted two seats because I wasn't allowed to buy an infant seat, and she agreed.
When I rang her the second time and mentioned the website statement she said she forgot that you could buy an infant seat!!
I'm not joking, I've spent hours over 3 days hanging on the phone to get this far.
I pray to god that I never have the misfortune to have to ever deal with Thomas Cook again. I have no idea how people cope with the stupidity, incompetence and lack of customer support they provide

Mate, for me this would take the edge off the whole thing, hence why I'm sat on the Ventura having had 2 weeks of great weather, great food, beer, wine and have visited half a dozen different ports along the way.
We dock at 6.30 on Sunday morning, myself and the wife will get off the boat at 9.00ish and be home by 10am with no stress at all.
I'll never fly again, with anybody.
