Are you stronger than a 5 yr old ?
A few weeks ago me and my 5 yr old boy was watching a programme, 'beat the star'I think it's called. One of the events was to hang vertically from a bar using hands only. I think Amir Khan lasted for 2 minutes.
A couple of weeks ago I put a swing in the garden but the prefers to use it as a climbing frame instead. Anyway he decides to hang from it and I timed him, he did 3 minutes. I was amazed.
A couple of days ago he wanted to do the hanging game again.
This time he did 4 minutes 30. I was amazed.

Really depends your 5yr old boy is gonna weigh lighter than amir, but then you would say that amir will have more strentgh than a 5yr old.Strentgh comes in different ways for instance.A gymnastics wont have the same strentgh as a boxer or vice versa,or you will find a guy with ripped abs and nice looking body wont have the strength of a power weight lifter. When i was a kid i used to be a bugger for beating my older friends on the monkey bars and the climbing rope.Atleast thats what i think.

Not sure about the Amir Khan thing since he will be super fit. I'm a steel erector and could hang by my hands all day if I had to. Lol Unless it wasn't as simple as that? Was he just hanging with his hands gripping a bar with arms straight?

"all day" you reckon? Try it next time you are erecting steel and get someone to time you. And yes it was hanging with just his hands, with arms straight.

Obviously "all day" was a bit of banter. I'd beat Amir Khan without a doubt though! I'll do it tomorrow and post back.

For the record.........I tried it myself last week and did 2 mins. I can do 20 wide grip chins, bench 160k, squat 160k and always thought I was strong?

Possibly to do with having more muscle bulk, and thus more fatigue through lactic acid build up. A 5yo with very little muscle mass allied to very little weight may well find this task easy compared to a heavier, more muscular person even with excellent fitness. (purely theoretical BTW)

Slightly off topic but worth a mention....
We have a guy in work who is a bullsh1tter and a bit slow.
He was telling us as a group during a break that he could lift twiced his body weight.
In work we have large black waste bins with handles either side, similar to standard bins but bigger.
I disputed his claims and invited him to step into the bin, grab the handles each side and lift himself up....
To my amazement he tried.
