Default Automatic cat flap?

I am having a nightmare with my chickens sleeping in their nest box at night (they fill it up with poop) instead of their roosts so i have had an idea

I need a cat flap on a timer or something so they cant get in the nest box at night but they can in the day to lay eggs.

I have bought a 'pop hole' opener that lets them in and out of their coop, it works on a light sensor but i have to get up about 6am to uncover the nest boxes. I cover them at night to stop them getting in.

Any ideas anyone?

Here's another: Pet Porte Microchip Cat Flaps | The original Microchip Cat Flap - Model PP0103 | Keeping other cats out

We have one for our two cats, it works a treat - but I'm not sure it's really what you're after...

It has a light sensor which stops the cat going outside when it's dark - so you'd want to install it such that the nest box is "outside".

Trouble is, during daylight hours anything is allowed "out" but only animals with a chip are allowed back "in", ie. out of the nest box. The last thing you'd want is an un-chipped fox getting inside and being trapped...
