This is a good time to speak up for your bank if you think it is any good.
I was once in Bank of Scotland Private Banking which was great, very personal but not so good if you do not live in Edinburgh and it is now part of the LLoyds/Halifax/Leeds/BoS/IF/C&G.
So if you get great service from your bank give it a vote!

Barclays since 1986. I think they put through a double entry once in 1993 or thereabouts, but apart from that haven't been able to fault them. But then i just pay money in and my bills get paid out, i'd be a bit annoyed if they couldn't get that right.

TSB I have banked with them since I was a teenager obviously now with Lloyds but still they give me a decent service, certainly no worse than others I hear about - plus we have a few added benefits as the missus works for them in a service centre.

Lots of great banks in SE Asia though. I opened a safety deposit box in one in Phonm Penh and of course took the manager the required bottle of JW Black label to smooth the transaction. He arranged for his brother to take me out shooting and blowing things up the next day, booked me a table at the nicest (nicest not most tourist trap expensive) restaurant, got me an upgrade at the hotel i was staying at and couldn't have been more helpful. All other banks i dealt with there just as good but without the extras sadly.

I walked into my local Halifax once, after I'd just been Clay Pigeon shooting. Carrying my Shotgun into the branch (didn't want to leave it in the car) I went to withdraw £100.
The nice lady behind the counter started shoving all her desk notes into a bag. A little confused as to what she was doing, I became even more confused when other staff members started doing the same.
I asked for £100, but walked away happy with £25,000 in cash.
Halifax. Best Bank in England.

About 25 - 30 years ago as a kid I opened my first account with Barclays with promotional bottle tops from Fairy Liquid. You got a quid for each bottle top, and I had four, but one was broken in two, but the manager gave me five quid!!
