We are having a party for my Father in law at the weekend for his 60th birthday. No room for any proper music, so have decided to compile our own mix of music spanning the last 60 years - which is where you lot can help me!!

Given the vast (should that be dwindling?) SN audience, I'm hoping you can suggest some decent music/songs to put on this thing. Any genre apart from Rap/garage.. as long as they are suitable for a gathering of all ages. And it has to be variety from 1949 - 2009.. so I hope some of the older members might be of great assistance here
