Driving up the A102(M)/A12 last night and there was a scruffy white van about 6 or7ft from the back of my car. I wasn't in a position to pull in as the traffic was heavyish and was doing 40 then 50 as the limit increased. Personally, I don't really mind tailgaters as its their car that will come off worse and I already need to get my neck sorted out as it's not right but anyway they were there.
Anyway, suddenly this police biker comes up between the traffic and puts himself in the gap between us at the same time beckoning the other driver to back off!
He then watched him for a while, then when I pulled over when clear, he shot off...
What a fantastic bit of pro-active policing
Wish there was more but every once in a while, a gem.
Thanks m8, whoever you are

Good to hear but he should have stopped him and fined the muppet - tailgaters cause the majority of Mway accidents and should be done for it every time. A lot worse than driving 73mph on a quiet open stretch of MWay/Dual Carriageway.
I left foot brake (to activate the brake light but not slow down) then slightly accelerate/maintain speed when people tailgate me. If that fails (it usually works) I slow right down. If that fails then it's usually a road rager that needs knocking out anyway.
