Cool

He was just outclassed today. Still, if he had played like that against Federer, he would have lost 6-0 6-0 6-0, so perhaps it's best.

I don't think Roddick will beat Federer, so another record for the Swiss ponce.

i think Roger Federer is the consumate sportsman -- in the top 3 of all time tennis players, however you cut the statistics and true winner and one of the humblest people you would ever meet, always gives loads of media interviews in 4/5 languages, and time for his fans

if he is a ponce then I would like my 9 year old tennis fanatic son to be a ponce too

i dont think people realise just how good Federer is

Mmm, let me be clear, I think Federer is a class act, like you say one of the very best, the Woods of tennis, but, have you seen the way he dresses off court?

I rest my case m'lud

He never looked like turning Roddick over after the second set. He had set point yes, but it was hardly convincing. In the fourth, he looked tired. As for tactics, this isn't Forumla One, the truly great players can handle it. I'm not saying Murray won't ever get there, but he ain't there now.

As for JM, well, sorry, I didn't realise he could tell the future, he's never beern wrong has he?.........

But he couldn't do it when it mattered could he? As I said earlier, at that level he should be able to adapt.

Why do people find it so hard to accept that 'their man/team' just wasn't good enough? It's like footballers going "we wuz robbed, we deserved", but the results show patently that they did not!

I wish Murray all the best, I'd love to see him win one, but realistically, unless he raises his game by a large margin, he ain't gonna do it whilst Messrs. Nadal and Federer are on the scene. If Nadal hadn't withdrawn, he potentially would have had to beat both of them with his seeding to lift the title!

Nadal -- is a tough one (although i thought he handled his win last year very well and have alot of time for him)

strongly suspected of using growth hormones, hence his body is fvcked -- and he will never get anywhere near feds achievements, will prob have to give up in another five years due to injuries

he is a power player and maybe he has had an artificial boost in that dept

Anyone care to back up their statements about Nadal's use of drugs with any evidence??

Roddick produced a great game on the day that was to good for Murray...I think he will have to reach another level to beat Fedorer though

Remember that Murray is one of the few players to consistently beat Federer, 6 from 8 and one of the very, very few people Federer worries about playing.

Roddick was very, very clever today - he played exactly the opposite of the way he last played when Murray thrashed him. Clever coach.

Murray needs to expand his tactical game. He was close today, but did not close the deal.

For two or three games he played as well as the very best in the world. He is already massively the most successful Brit in the modern game.
