Caterpillars?
Ok, a few questions about the following photos;
1) I assume the little critters are caterpillars, if not what are they?
2) What plant is it that the critters are feasting on?
3) Will they kill this plant and/or other plants and if so, how can one eradicate them, preferably without chemicals due to us not wishing our dog to ingest anything nasty.

They are caterpillars. Unbelievable!
Just pick them off and squash them, they are pretty slow so you should be able to catch them.
