Unlocking a Orange Phone (Samsung)
I have a Samsung Pixon phone but it is locked to Orange. It asked for a code when I try and use my O2 sim card. Does anyone know the code or where I would get it from, or how to unlock ?????
Help please my old phone has died.

I had similar problems when buying an O2 phone and using an orange chip. You can download software to `unlcok` the phone but its quite a pain.
Best option is to look in your friday add / internet, and go to a local phone shop that can unlock phones. I found one nearby and for £15 he unlocked my 6300.
Its far easier, and you cant ***** up the country codes / etc etc.

Orange will chage you thrity quid, and they only give you the unlock code. That means your phone will still have the orange software on it.
Best bet is to go into a phone shop (not high street like carphonewarehouse, the link etc) and ask them to unlock, and DE-BRAND. Unlock will be 10-15 tops. The de-brand is to take all the network options off, so no links to Orange world in the menu, and no orange menu. Just a clean phone as Samsung made it. You'll still have all these options, but not orange branded. That'll probably be another 15 quid, and of course is optional, and not needed to just unlock. You can haggle in these shops, well I do

Apparently there is no free way, but still some codes here: Samsung M8800 Pixon - Unlocking For Free? [Archive] - GSM-Forum
So if you want to do it yourself, but for free, it doesn't look like it will happen any time soon.
Loads of firms on ebay and the net will sell you the unlock code for 15 quid.
