Hey folks,
I'm currently writing my Grooms speech but I have a bit of a sticking point! I'm fairly happy with it so far but I need to fit in a few words to mention people who have passed away and were'nt there.
Firstly where in the speech do I say this? I though maybe near the start after I welcome the guests?
Secondly how do I say it respectfully?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as i dont want to mess this up!!

I feel for you... I had to do exactly the same as my wifes father passed away a few months before our wedding, it was grim as Nicole and her side of the family all burst into tears during my speach and i was struggling to remain composed and had to cut it short.
It was along the lines of: "Finally, Id like to raise a toast to those family members whom sadly cannot be with us today, but without their help and support we wouldnt be here today. Ladies and gentleman, a toast, to absent friends and family"

Sounds like yoiu still did a great job Stu. well done mate.
Is that the appropriate place to insert the toast then after you have toasted bridesmaids etc?
its the placing of it more than the words!

At my Cousins wedding my Uncle who gave her away went down the lines of "and those not here but looking down on us". It was sufficient to help us remember, but brief enough not to cause heartache . Best of luck. Bob
