Shame you're not nearer the M18 - there's a stonking paintball site out that way: Bawtry.
Had some of my best games there... mind you; I've not been for a while, I think my gun would need some serious work to get it operational again

Generally just rec ball in the woods about once a month at a Universal in the north east.
Few of the other lads there play tournaments at the Northern Star Paintball Academy and may get me fat *** along if I can get the time.
Couple of local teams are Unified, Mad Monks and Lockdown, they will travel all over the country to play the 'Masters'
Being a bit of a tart and gun ***** have a load of gear.
This includes stuff from Planet, Empire and Dye.
Marker wise have 3 pumps including a Phantom, Bushmaster and cocker pump.
2 mechanicals, an old Illustrator F4 and a mech cocker with CP reg and ASA.
A very rare and collectable PE Nexus DC2 Autococker, this thing is so sweet!
An Ego 6, 2 Ego 7's and an Ego 8 which need a new solenoid, £109 ouch!
All have laser eyes and cure 1 and 2 bolts fitted.
7 and 8's also have Stinger grips as well
Used to have a PMR with just about every up you could have, alloy bits, UL frame, Dye on/off, laser eyes, UL barrel etc. Sold it to me mates brother.
Had an Epiphany as well but sold that to me mate who is converting it into a scenario marker, an M14 to be precise!

Did paintball for the first time recently, and it was a good laugh, but yeah some of the bruises were pretty serious! First few times I got hit it wasn't too bad so I was wondering what the fuss what about, and then did some kamikazi runs into the enemy base and found that hits the thigh or arms cause some serious pain!
It's not something I would want to do on a regular basis!

Got shot in both kneecaps at point blank range once and couldn't walk for ten minutes!
I reckon it's good fun and proper military tactics like pepper potting do actually work. I've siezed many an enemy "trophy" in the few times I've been thanks to working with a buddy who pepper pots with me (after a bit of explaining on how to do it).
Does remind me slightly of the Fast Show "OFF ROAD" pair though...

Used to play a bit, but now time / money are against me sad really as I used to enjoy it.
Tried organizing 1 for work, but everyone refused to go as they were afraid I wouldn't use a marker!!!

I've just got my old Tippmann A5 with e-grip and flatline.
Mind you that does give a good 100' distance advantage with (illegally) 16 shots per second when on fully auto

before i got my PMR, i went last month and used A5 with e-grip with the stock on. a bit heavy but it was not half accurate lol. better for picking off people rather than accuracy by quantity. looking at using the ramping on my PMR next time, set at 15 bps for now.

The stock A5 is okay - but they always say to get the flat line - then it becomes a sniper rifle and by 'eck can you get some cracking shots off
I usually have it set to semi- ('cos you're mean to!) but I've tried 3 shot (which let's face it: is fully in all but name) and ramping which is insane!
I had an attack and defend scenario where two guys walked out as they simply could not out shoot, out range or out gun me (on my own) - they were meant to have infinite lives but they just gave up (Bawtry Tree tops fort)

Most sites are semi only with a 12pbs cap and set to 280fps.
Some will allow ramping which is great fun, can't remember which body has reduced this to 10bps ramp after 3 trigger pulls it will add an extra ball per pull if a certain trigger pull rate is maintained.
Uncapped ramp is great fun though but not legal on most places, think X Ball rules allow auto at a capped bps.
Just using semi last Sunday and still managed a box of 2000 and 10 locklids full of paint so probably 3.5k just for a blast in the woods. Tourny players probably get through 2/3 cases in a day

yeah - the back stock is a God send (I have the car stock which allows more accurate dialling of the speed)
The thing about site limits is that the 'sweet spot' for the flatline is about 265-270, so it's never over the limit. When you get the spot the ***** just seem to go on forever. i shot a guy smack in the middle of his forehead (way more luck than judgement!) from clean across an arena. He just stood there in full view as his paint had been falling short of me so he figured he was out of range. I asked him afterwards why he didn't get the hell out of the way and he said it was facinating just watching this ball float towards him (called a flatline as the paint has a REALLY flat trajectory)
I also like the flat crack you get when firing the A5 - it's very distinctive, and on full chat hellishly intimidating!

Think you guys are covered by the same laws as the airguns judging by the speeds you post about. 300fps with a .68 ball thats about 1/2 oz would give you 12 ft/lbs.
Just went looking in the loft for my Spyder and after 1/2 hour searching realized I sold it years ago!!!

I never got imperial units. I don't get lbs/ft ft/lbs. Cos one unit seems to be talking about force, and another energy. Can someone help a bit of a luddite out as to how you get to the 12 ft/lbs legal limit from weight and vel?

Theres a magic formula, and I cant remember it, basically projectile weight x projectile weight x velocity / some number.
I've been shooting bows and air rifles for longer than I remember so can guestimate speeds. my rilfes ruun 16 grain pellets at 550 fps which is about 11.7 ft/lbs.
