Who pays for cancelled projects if Tories win?
Let's face it Labour is doomed within the next 12 months at the General Election. Nevertheless the Government continues to proceed with various projects that the Tories have vowed to cancel when they come to power.
Just a few off the top of my head: ID cards and database, 3rd runway at Heathrow, 2nd runway at Stansted etc.
Who will pay for the colossal wasted costs involved?

Are they pushing ahead with this investment, or waiting to see what happens? It seems a bit crazy to me to bet a huge slice of your own company money on the long-shot odds that Labour win again.

I would not rule a Labour win out ......
Looks unlikely right now, granted - but, next year when the Tories have to do something, say something, produce something, cost something we shall see what the public think!
Anyone who saw Question Time last night should be in no doubt that the public tis fed up to the back teeth of the Tories gloating without offering one ounce of an alternative .... a case in point is the Gurkhas. The Tories did NOTHING for them when they were in power ... Labour did something at least!
People are not stupid, they don't like Labour but they don't like being treated like idiots as the Tories are doing!!

Forget Flash coming on telly vowing to spend his way out of reccession. Bullsh1t.
We do a lot of work that is Government backed. Schools, colleges, NHS, MOD.
Most projects have been cancelled. Those that haven't been are to far down the line to be stopped.
We were looking at a very healthy couple years. No reccession for us at all. Jobs worth £6m per year. Very good for a small company.
All but one have been cancelled. We're fighting for the last remaining contract via the main contractor.
Labour spin & Bullsh1t.

The FSA has spent an absolute fortune on what is known as the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) It will completely fail to reign in the banks and impact mostly on small IFA firms like ours which in the most part do our best to save clients from the banks.
It would not surprise me in the slightest if RDR was fettled (together with the FSA) and either dropped or changed so drastically the amount of money spent will be a disgrace.
