Very quiet!
Is it me or is SN even quieter today? It doesn't seem to have as many new threads over the last few weeks, NSR is usually quite 'active' likewise the computer forum. Are people back at work now finding SN has been blocked I wonder?

I've found that there seems to be a general bad feeling on SN at the moment. Lot's of people flying off the handle for no reason, and as for the furore over the adult section. People appear to be staying away for whatever reason.

It's probably got something to do with asking the members how they can improve things then ignoring them completely and introcing a load of changes geared at increasing revenues and at the same time crippling the speed of the site.

The way its being run there is no surprise it is quiet. The mod team and stu's attitude to the adult section can't of helped although I doubt that in itself is the sole reason. Treat people like mugs in any walk of life and they will go elsewhere.

All automotive web forums start a traffic decline in April / May as the weather improves and people start going out and doing other things. Its normally accompanied by a whole host of "This forum is dying" type topics. lol
My attitude? What do you mean by that?
(Click me if you dont know what discussion he means...)

Have to agree about the weather, been lovely down here today and been out and about much more of late, as for stu having an attitude, i find him very restrained despite the extreme provocation he gets at times.
The weather plus some people like expressing their opinions but when on the receiving end they can't handle it so usually end up buggering off until they're bored again.
That and as already mentioned the adult section, in a way it's taken away half the fun of posting risqué topics not knowing whether they'd be locked or removed.

Its not just quieter because of the weather, as lets face it the weather has been pretty dire
A number of people (myself included) can no longer be bothered, due to the number of issues primarily with speed
The site IMO is not a patch on what it used to be, and despite what anyone else says I wish the site hadnt been sold to IB, its ruined SN for me in many ways

Runs great here, and others have osted what can be done to speed things up.
But like you say some can't be bothered, i think quite a few are tired of arguing, they should just learn to let go instead and enjoy the forum as best they can.

I've lost count of the number of times I've told people about this: Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts File
Get this: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.zip from the site, unzip and run the batch file.

Much of it is due to the fact the Impreza is dead. No one is buying the new one, people have moved on to other marques. New members are more likely to be neds in 96 Sti RA imports bought at auction for 2 grand

I've been reading this site for years and the only thing that ruins it is people that can't help but complain over the smallest thing.
Stu is doing a great job and i for one salute him for trying his best to keep everyone happy.
Trust me, i've used a website that has elitist notions and communistic moderation, this is a godsend to use in comparison.

Can't see anything wrong with the moderation or the attitude of the webmaster personally.
I think that the slowing down of the site does make a difference and can't say if the Adult section has upset some since i have not seen it nor do I wish to.
Obviously I have not been put off,and I hope that others will not desert SN either.

You think this is quiet? The Renault 5 Turbo sites I visit regularly go 7+ days without a single post!
But you're right though. I have noticed a decrease in traffic on here in the past few weeks.
