Default Got an iPhone 3G?

If you've got an iPhone 3G the chances are you, like me, got one upon release.

For those that don't know you can downgrade your tariff after 9 months of the 18 month contract. It might not appeal to all of you, but I went for a higher tariff at the time than I needed to get the phone for free. Now I can bring the monthly spend down to my normal usage.

Takes a maximum of 24 hours to activate.

I'm paying £45 a month, but my contract is £29.99, I have unlimited texts and unlimited O2 calls, as everyone I know is on O2 ..

Still interesting link, will pass it on thanks

That is interesting as someone who wil be looking for a new phone in the next 3 months, I was going to rule out the I-phone due to expensive tariffs, may make me think again

As a serious traveller and wifi user the iPhone is saving me money. I now get international texts included in my tariff - at a 2-1 rate - and free wifi in thousands of places. The text deal alone has paid for the iPhone itself.

Sounds like a deal there ^^.

I find I've probably saved the monthly cost each month in internet usage alone. Especially since I can't use the internet at work.

The Cloud and Bt-Openzone are a series of Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK in places like coffee shops and pubs. If you switch Wi-Fi on in any of these places you can connect to the net using it for free in your bundle, but not to ones supported by T-Mobile for example (unless you want to pay).

After your year runs out why not buy another Pay As You Go iPhone SIM from eBay? They are only a couple of quid then you'll get another year of free internet!
