Anyone here aware off the max allowed to be earned to qualify for legal aid ?? impending court case, first meeting with the lawyer booked but just wonder if legal aid will be availble to me ?? believe that recently the rules were changed so that the majority off working class would be eligble for receiving legal aid, anyone aware off the new rules if indeed it has been changed ??

Living in scotland so not sure if things are any different up here ?? any ideas roughly how much can expect to pay for a small motoring related case in terms off lawyer costs if I dont qualify for legal aid ??

Don't know about Scottish Legal Aid system but in UK it's unlikely you would get legal aid for a minor motoring job anyway, unless it put you in breach of a Suspended sentence then you would have a better chance! I take it you are not though!
Depends what the job is as to how much the lawyer would charge. Try and tie him down to a fixed fee and get it in writing too. They generally charge by the hour and will charge you every time you talk to them. Fixed fee is the way forward for you.
