We have a BT Diverse 6350 telephone/answer machine set. It is about 4 yrs old.
All of a sudden the answer recording incoming messages has stopped working. The 'phone itself is fine but it will not record a message. When called it rings as normal and then instead of the usual "We cannot take your call....." it just goes dead on the caller. I have tried it using the mobile to call in and it just cuts me off, a dead line. The memory is empty as all messages are usually deleted within a day or so when dealt with. All settings are as they should be.
Is the machine busted beyond sensible repair ie simpler to chuck away and buy a new one ?

At 4 yrs old.... junk it. its not worth repairing, thats assuming you can find anyone to repair it
