Default Refound sweets youd forgotten about?

Went to a shoot on a Raf base crewed by the USAF today. After 13 years I refound Hershey bars!!!

Now thinking about going online shopping for more and get some Jolly Ranchers as well.

So what sweets have you refound after forgetting how good they taste?

A few years ago my sisters friend started an old time sweet shop online. Rhubarb and custard and space dust are my top two at the moment.

I remember Texan Bars came back about 4 years ago for a while. A lot smaller than I remember.

Over Easter we went to the Cotswolds and spent a day in Bath. There was a stall selling sweets by the quarter, so we got some cough candy twists and cola cubes

A couple of the guys today bought a couple of crates of Mountain dew off the organisers (got from the base PX). Might do that for Hersheys next time I'm up there.

Found a boiled sweet in an old suit pocket the other day. Wasn't very nice.

American chocolate always used to be awful. My American friends always wanted me to take English chocolate over there, especially Cadbury's chocolate fingers.

Circa ???

Luckily we live quite close to this place Paul's Traditional Sweet Shop in West Wycombe so we can fill our fat gobs anytime
Check out the original containers

Best rediscovered ones had to be the very odd and slightly moorish Floral Gums which for some bizzare reason taste like fairy washing up liquid

I does worry to think that during the cold war, our heavy bombers with a nuclear payload were piloted by chaps who would eat things they find in suit pockets

It still is! I really don't like the taste of Hersheys, much prefer Cadbury's, though that does taste a little different from how I remember it. Someone once said that the different taste was due to the different process to make the chocolate, which allows it to not melt so much in higher temperatures, not convinced about that myself.

I remember hearing for years about Hersheys as a kid and wanting to try it, went to the States and one of the first things I did was buy a bar, utterly foul. American sweets all tend to be a bit industrial, very sweet with no subtlety.

I love Reeces Pieces though.

What were those boiled sweets called that were the same shape as Tunes and sold in the same format, but were fruity?

I'm showing my age now. I don't remember them past the very early 80s.
