LG Scarlett LCD tv sounds poor???
I have recently bought a new LG Scarlett lcd tv after my last lcd tv was damaged by the wife with a wii remote
The reports said how the picture and sound were so much better than the previous version which i had (it was only 3 month old when accident happend) The speakers are apparently hidden, but the sound is what can only be described as truely awfull. Its really tinny no matter what sound setting i put it on. I have had to connect it up to my surround sound but this is a bit much all the time. Surely a £800 tv should have good sound

If its anything like our LG in the kitchen (btw which festure-wise seems waay over-specced for a 22" TV, I guess it uses the same circuitry as the larger units of the same model range ).
I found the auto-volume leveling plays weird tricks with the sound. Somehow it kind of makes speach sound hollow. The speakers also point downwards too, which obviously has a negative effect on the treble and stereo imaging.

Did some work for LG a while back and they where modifying the chasis because of vibration/rubbing problems (speaker related) on sets made in Eastern Europe, a lot fo which find their way into the UK.
They had a team of some 25 Eastern European workers set up in an industrial unit in Northampton just modding these TV's!
It may be it wasn't modded/fixed or was fixed but badly.
Contact LG, they are real hot on CS and will get it sorted.

TV speakers are not usually that good, built to a price and space are and issue. You should get adequate sound, not exceptiona but good enough to listen to, if it does sound tinny try a set in a local comet or such and see how thats sounds in comparison.

Just been on the phone with LG customer Service, very helpfull i might add. Engineer going to call about coming out to see the tv. Possible software upgarde or repair i am told. I know the sounds are not usually great due to the inbuilt speakers but this one takes the biscuit!!!!
