Switching from Hard to Soft Contact Lenses

I've been wearing gas permeable hard lenses from the tender age of 15 and have just switched (some 22 years later) to soft lenses.

Is it just me, or are soft lenses not as clear as the hard ones? I find I'm squinting at the telly in the evenings and when I'm driving (espcially at night) they seem generally more blurry.

I've been back to the optician as part of my aftercare package and they've checked and re-checked that my prescription is correct and say that it is.

Is this difference in clarity normal - anyone else found the same?

I went from hard to dailes a few years ago. Feels very different for a few weeks while I got use to them but after that no problems what so ever, cant say I noticed that they were any worse or better as my vision is still very good with them in (-3.75 each eye BTW)

Fairly yes, -5.5 in both eyes.

The soft lenses are really comfortable in comparison and you don't know they're in but this clarity issue is really bugging me.
