Got one...
No, not a job (yet), but a suit
Had an appointment at the Jobcentre this morning at 10.00am.
Went to the upstairs which filters out some of the great unwashed and pond life and had a brief meeting which a nice fellow. Basically he said as the rules have recently changed, I am entitled to upto £350 of funding in a 12 month rolling year for things like work materials, clothing etc. obviously while still unemployed.
Anywho, I explained I had a final interview this friday and I'd like to make a good impression by wearing a suit. He explained that they use an invoice type receipt which I take to their suppliers, get what I need and had the recipet over. The suppliers simply claim the money back with the invoice signed by me and the Jobcentre. The suppliers they use was Burtons
So the guy made a quick phone call to Burtons to announce my arrival, and asked how much the following was as a guide price to write down on the invoice...
Gave my mother a ring for some female advice (as I'm not one for suits and smartwear usually), and came home with what I think is a smart, decent quailty set up for friday afternoons interview.
I wanted to say thankyou to everyone (including those who offered help and assistance via pm and email) for the advice and banter on the other thread, and fingers crossed for friday. The killer will be the wait until May/June time when I'll find out if I have ben sucessful in gaining a place on the apprenticeship scheme.
Thanks again,
Andy

Wheel refurb is coming on well, just slow progress due to my limitations
Thanks for the well wishes guys, nice to know there isn't just folk out there ready to jump on a "slating bandwagon" like a certain C.D.
will be preparing thoroughly tomorrow, research, background info etc etc.

Glad all that has worked out so far COB, I bet you feel quite suave in that suit now
Good luck with the interview, as DCI said, don't try to be someone that you are not-I think anyway since I have not met you!

Erm, nobody has interviewed me yet. Infact today I actually recieved notice from a recent application for a shop assistant telling me the position was suddenly filled. Thats the luck I've had, maybe it's the area, I dunno.

Good luck for the interview today!
Perhaps the new suit will add that extra spring in your step and get you the job!
Great to see the money being spent on the right people for once!
