Dominoes, by far the best but a little expensive Asda freshly made pizzas cooked at home are far superior though

I really like Papa John's for take-away pizza and nothing can beat the Pizza Hut buffet lunch

Chav pizzas.

Pizza Express or ASK are the way forward unless you can find a proper Italian place.
Americanised pizzas are as tasty as camel's phlegm. Unless you are a party totally battered and suddenly get extreme munchies - then they become the food of the gods (as do kebabs).

Well said that man!

Pizza is Italian, it should be thin and never contain Chicken Tikka!

Pizza Express are nice! I won't touch Dominos, way too much dough!

Dudes, click the link!!

(esp the domino fans)

But as this has gone in an unexpected direction, have to agree with Asda stuffed crust, good size and when done fresh, delicious.

Never realised that ASK have more then one outlet and assumed it was a local thing, regardless, i tried them once, nice enough setting but the food was gash and tastless

I did check the link but saw the opportunity for a chav rant so took it...

Stuffed crust is also chav.

But Asda do make good almost "proper" pizzas too.

I make them at home quite often - make the dough and everything. Takes ages but they are damn tasty.

Sticky - they (ASK) are a chain run by Pizza Express! They do vary a lot in quality. Had great pizzas at some, average ones at others.

Can I have a moan, go on....please?

Why is all UK pizza sh*t?

I mean, who thinks the cardboard pizza bases like Dominoes use are actually nice? Seriously. Its like cardboard. Pizza hut has marginally better bases, but its still appears to be some sort of recycled paper mache, and covered over with a gallon of ultra-rich and sickly synthetic tomatoe puree to hide it.

Bases with a consistancy of pita bread is bad enough, but come on, has anyone in these Pizza places (or frozen/supermarket junk) ever eaten a proper pizza with a freshly made base and toppings? Not a ready made part baked base, and some ready made topping out of a carton laid on top of synthetic tomatoe puree. Or for that, why do people buy them?

I'm sorry if that sounds snobish, but it is my opinon. The closest decent pizza I have ever found in the UK came out of a box in Waitrose - and even then I needed to add some extra stuff on the topping, as it was a little sparse.

Consequentally I only eat pizza when drunk, and being honest, when I'm in that state you could use a mouldy base, burn it, and top it with lawn clippings and farm manure and I wouldn't notice.

Moan over.

Seriously, my eyes were opened after eatinga "proper" Pizza.

Ali - make your own. Honestly they beat ten shades of merde out of almost all UK pizzas.
Have eaten proper pizzas in Italy many times and they are just a World apart.

Once again the old adage of 'Pay Peanuts, Get Monkeys' is proven true

As for my favourite; Pizza Pan, Old Park Lane, Macclesfield

Anything other than a thin base is just plain wrong

ASK is pretty chav tbh, well in Weybridge anyway. The crap they serve up there is lapped up by those who think it's some kinda haute cuisine!
If you're just having a pizza though, I suppose they're ok 50% of the time.

I worked for Pizza Piazza when I was a kid and I always preferred them to Pizza Express (all from the same origin anyway), man I'm hungry now!!!

I tend to go for a Dominics if I'm going for a stodgy but tasty dough-fest

That's a gross link as well but it's nothing new and it's not just Dominoes who are fecking around with your food!

Yep, it is amazing how quick, cheap and easy it is to make a homemade pizza, I used to be shocked at the mark ups.

OK, which of you heathans is a fan of the old pineapple and ham on pizza's, that's just so wrong!!

It's fancy cheese on toast. Get over it. It's not the finest foie gras on a bed of caviar served by dusky maidens of the southern pacific.

I'm from that area - my uncle still lives in "the Hill"

Pizza Piazza were great - a real shame when they went.

Mamoon - not sure how you do your tomato topping but this works a treat>

Used strained fresh toms or just chopped tinned one. Add to bloody hot oil (lots of it) just after browning (very rapidly) a good chunk of chopped garlic.
The toms will really spit. Add a tiny bit if sugar (takes the tarteness away), a load of oregano and keep heating and stirring until it goes all "glossy" (about 8 minutes). Whack in a blender being careful not to burn yourself, then stick in on your pizza base - amazing!

For all those whinging about "proper pizzas" dont get me wrong, had Pizza in Italy on numerous occasions and it was lovely.

Pizza is a simple food. you can put whatever topping you like on so that if it tastes nice then fair play, so if I want to put chicken tikka on, I will, as it does taste bloody good....

And Dominos pizza doesnt taste like cardboard. its not authentic italian pizza admittedly but I honestly think it tastes quite nice so I will eat it. If eating a particular type of food makes a Chav then so be it Least I dont dance around in pyjamas and show it off to the world wide web

Yeah, "the hill" appears to be more and more filled up with russians now for some reason. Most of the people who I knew from up there moved out last year. But it still cracks me up when you see all those people sneaking in to try and craftily sneak onto the golf course.

Oh, it used to be great working at Pizza Piazza, free food, I certainly used to fill my boots

Matteeboy, damn you, you've made me sooooo hungry with all your recipe type stuff that I think I might just have to pop into Pizza Express shortly

No, no, no, no, you are wrong!! Hawaian pizza's are evil and pineapple should never go on as a topping!!

I dont like Pineapple on pizza either, must admit. But when I have an asda pizza I have to have chicken tikka on, topped with Pepperoni, Ham and Mixed Peppers. Tastes by far the best pizza in the UK... (Thin and Crispy btw, although Stonebake is ok if need be)
