Default Chimney Sweep

Having sired two boys, I didn't think I would ever need the services of a professional chimney sweep, but according to New Labour's Nanny State, it seems that I am no longer allowed to simply force the little blighters up our chimney flue against their will. Apparently I now need to pay them the minimum wage!

Anyway, I now require the following professional services. Does anyone know what sort of price(s) I can expect to be charged?

1) Remove/Re-fit solid fuel living room stove
2) Remove nesting birds (does that mean I've got bird flu?)
3) Sweep chimney
4) Fit ant-bird cover thingy on top of chimney pot

Lots of chimney sweeps about (well there seem to be in Yorkshire) and I think I paid about £30 to have 2 of them swept. As to the stove, if its a straight change of stove then I'd do it yourself as its straightforward. If its a new install or the stove hasn't been used since D-day then you'll need the chimney inspected and possibly a liner put in. Get a pro for this! I had a new stove installed and one of the chimneys lined for it last year - absolutely superb!

We have one who arrives every year in October and tells us the date he will be there next year.

He does a first class job and charges £15 for one chimney.

Can't say what the other work would cost though.
