I think you will find the media has twisted it.
This man was not a paedophile nor was he a pervert.
He wanted help and he didnt get it, he was let down by the system.

I couldn't believe this when I heard it on the news yesterday. 
We still have no proof that it is the same guy, but there aren't too many people on the Isle of Sheppy with that name. If it is the same guy, he used to work for our company! Doing my job!

That is the same guy yes.
& he needed some help with a few things and he seeked it and got ****ed over and now hes dead.

I have no idea what he was doing or why..... the fact is that having child **** on your computer is illegal under any circumstances...
he may of found a site and was downloading pictures to go and show the police or he may of been having ulterior motives........ if he was downloading to show the police and it went horribly wrong then i feel sorry for him and his family.

Whatever the situation, the whole business obviously affected him deeply. Sounds like he was not convicted of paedophilia anyway, if that was so it is wrong to pass judgement on something that we don't know about.

Suspects saying that they are 'researching' or that they are taking the pics to the police etc. doesn't really wash with me, fair enough there may be some people out there who are that shockingly naive but not many I'd bet.
There is no reason to have pictures like that on your pc, barring some kind of sh1tty virus or something but I'm sure that police computer forensics would spot that pretty early on.
Maybe the chap concerned was innocent and found it all so much to take that he took his own life, due to the shame but again I just can't see how that could be (I know, I know, people don't always think straight when depressed etc. but come on!), if he was innocent he has made himself look more guilty this way.
I dunno, maybe he was searching for this Petting Zoo Goat Slams KidVideo and got the wrong thing
Actually, that video is really horrible, if it was my kid I'd be having goat stew!

I'll say it again, there is no defense whatsoever for looking at kiddie ****, problem or not.
He may have had an issue and was seeking help but did he do that after or before downloading a load of materials and how did anyone actually know or find out what he had on the computer. I wouldn't request or expect an answer to the above as we're just members of a silly little forum.

What he was being investigated for is a bit more 'specialist' by the sounds of it.
The system may have let him down, I don't disagree with that at all.
Maybe there should be a better way of people with these issues/bizarre thoughts getting treatment, I don't know what is in place now but clearly it doesn't work but it also relies on the person with a problem actually detecting this in themselves and wanting to be helped, probably not the case a lot of the time.
Anything on here is just the opinion of the individual (or regurgitated media drivel in some cases) and a variety of reactions are to be expected. There are probably thousands of people sitting at home or down the pub, speculating with others in exactly the same way and saying the same things. Hard to take but that's life.
You're right, we don't have all the details, so we are debating and sounding off on the subject, kinda what forums are for, sorry that it caused offense but you appear to have come on here looking for it.
I honestly don't know how I'd feel if a family member was accused of the same thing, I'd be fairly mixed, I'm sure. All I can say is, sorry for your loss.
