I pay a fiver a month on the main ones, and have the other one covered with my bank account.

Well worth it IMO, always nice to have a phone the next day.

Put the tenner a month into a little piggy bank and put it towards a new phone if you lose/break it.

How much is the excess for a claim? £25 I think????

Look at your household insurance. May cover you.

lol and see if you can resist spending it, or trust yourself to save it.
How much is an offline replacement ? 3-400? its gonna take you 3 years to cover the cost..... so you have to go 3 years without losing/damaging it.... By which time you will have upgraded 2-3 times lol

Depends on the quality of the insurance too. Some policies are so hard to claim on that theyre not worth anything anyway.

Mobile phone crime is up, almost certainly because saying it was stolen is alot easier than trying to think up another valid reason you have to claim.

lol you love that smilie dont ya

My reply was to the whole thing, inc the original reply suggesting the £10 a month.
There is no way I would claim on household insurance for a phone!
Orange's insurance is spot on, never had an issue with it, and 24 hour replacement inc SIM card, which most other insurances wont cover. So that in itself is £10-15 with most providers

i agree with orange insurance, claimed twice in the last 3 years. Once it was a known fault with the phone they wavered the excess( i think it was £15) next day delivery to anywhere that i wanted it sent to. The last time i was moving house and i knelt down and cracked the screen on my phone, i was only a month from an upgrade so thought they might try and drag their heels in but i got another phone the next day no problems.

Defo worth £6.99 for a £250+ phone.

lol you say about a month from an upgrade.. I claimed 6 days before upgrading last year.
Both phones ruined up Snowdon in a rain storm. 2 new phones delivered the next morning. Thats what insurance is all about.

Never had a problem with their insurance, and had some wierd and wonderful claims.

I had phone insurance before - lost my mobile and they wouldnt pay out because I couldnt tell them where I lost my phone....I did point out that if I knew where I lost it then it wouldnt be lost, however it wasnt happening.

I had to buy myself out of the contract, 5 months worth.

Since then I have never had insurance. If I lose my iphone I'll buy another, or use my old phone until im out of contract and get a free upgrade.

Sod that !
Speaker crackle is a valid reason for a replacement on Orange, phone freezing, rebooting etc.

Sounds like nancies insurance to me.

Covered via Bank account, as is Mrs DD's phone, and other items. Makes the service charge cheap at the price
