I one looked at a car on a dealer website and got a quote for finance and insurance - purely out of curiousity.

I then got called twice a day for a week by Yes Car Finance asking me to complete my loan application. I told them I had never applied for a loan, but they were insistent. Apparently they buy all these 'leads' and call the weak willed to complete the application.

When I mentioned Banking Ombudsman they buggered off!

Sign up to the telephone preference service. It will stop all unsolicited and silent calls from the UK. Failure to comply can result in the caller getting a £5k fine for non-compliance iirc. Check for TPS on google

£50k fine now, but a lot of get-outs. If you filled in a web form as above, then TPS will be no help as it is not unsolicited.

Just tick the 'do not contact me box'.

TPS is a bit of a pain to complete, but I've had my phone line tied up in the past with an automated call, now I don't get any

Not so i,m afraid

the calls originate outside the UK, so not covered by the TPS,

the ones who do, dont!

talk talk keep calling me despite referring them to the fact i,m registered with TPS,

Theyve even reported themselves to the TPS, for calling me when

requested not to!!!..........................and they still do it!

If its an automeated call, its hang up time...

if its a human, its the on hold kitchen routine
