Microsoft have charged my CC card without my consent.
Guys just to let u know I have just got a bill from my CC card company for 39.99 for Xbox Live which i didn't consent too.
Many months ago i put my CC details in as i wanted to get some online credit for forza. At the end of Feb my Xbox Live expired and i have not renewed it as i don't use my Xbox anymore. I got an email from Microsoft saying they upgraded my account and charged my card. I didn't think much of it as the card has expired and afterwards i got an email from Microsoft saying that the car was out of date.
Today i recieved my credit card bill and have been charged for Xbox Live and i am fooking pissed off that they went ahead with it without my acceptance.
Is there anything i can do about it?

setting up an Authority to Pay on a credit card is VERY different to a DD from a current account (i.e. Bank/Building society -- anything with a acc number and sort code)
unlike DD you will find that you cannot cancel it, even by canceling your card
the compnay that you have given authority to has to

I did issue a warning through these pages a few weeks ago reference this issue.
You can close your CC Account, cut your card up and end the contract. BUT, if you have set up a continuous payment on your CC then the payment will be made regardless!!
Which is, of course, a disgraceful scam.
