Red face Could Save a Few SNetters a heartbreak ..

Be very wary about setting up a continuous payment on a Credit Card ... even when you close the account, cut up the card and have nothing further to do with it - it continues to be paid!

This is especially true of some Insurance Companies - Elephant and Admiral, for example - they like to have your Credit Card details on file and WILL (unless you tell them) debit your account with the premium come renewal time!! A month later you find out you paid a premium .... even if the CC has been chopped up!

Of course, Admiral and Elephant dress this scam up as a 'benefit for the customer' claiming it is to ensure you are not left without Insurance (hmmmmm, I believe it is more to do with grabbing the premium without asking!)

Avoid this devious credit card sting!

I have been done like this a couple of times. I recently closed an Amex card, paid the final bill and forgot about it.
They didnt inform me the month after the final bill they would issue a final interest bill, I obviously didnt pay as I was deleting the amex emails by then andI got stung with a £12 fee for 72p of interest.
