Exclamation HTC Touch Diamond users......

Hello there

I just wondered if any of you have installed any good programs on your touch diamonds?

Can you recommend any?

Looking for cool & funny stuff. Not too bothered about games. Any good utilities?
I had a search on google but theres so much stuff I'm not sure where to start.

Please make me happy I chose the diamond over the iphone
Thanks
Steve

I'd like one that allows you to make and receive calls easily, and text without random words being inserted in the message. I refer to my HTC as dog ****.

I have a couple of colleagues who ranted and raved about their HTC Touch Diamond phones before they got them....they raved and raved...and then they got them. Haven't heard **** all since. I think that says it all really. On the other hand, the Samsung i8510 that I have and love to bits, does everything I want including making and receiving calls! Oh HOW I LAUGHED!

lol what did you expect?

This is scoobynet after all. Home of the about turn of threads, the hijacking of ANY topic, and above all, the place to moan

Hope you find some good apps soon mate. Plenty out there.
And for what its worth, the HTC is the best touch phone I have ever used. But touch and me dont get on.

The most relevant response was to go to the XDA-developer forum.

As above - go here:

XDADeveloperWiki - HTC_Diamond

If you are vaguely technical, I would recommend installing a custom rom - a bit like getting a remap

I use one from shak, Rom's are here:

Diamond ROM development - xda-developers

[ROM][WWE][JAN18] Shaks.P v3.20 UC Compliant Official 2.03 Base + MSVCUK16/CVSD(Cabs) - xda-developers

I have TomTom installed which is great, Coreplayer which plays loads of movie types which media player can't, and I did have gmeter, which is a GPS/Gsensor thing for measuring speed, acceleration, g force, horsepower and other stuff. It's not really finished yet, but when it is will be pretty good.

There's a LightSaber app for the HD, uses the G sensor, that's pretty cool?

I have a HTC HD but should the software also work on the Diamond.....

IGO8 Sat Nav
AM Music ID (no real use but a bit of a "look what this can do" if thats your thing)
G-Alarm
PBA Bowling (swing your phone to bowl )
Pocket Gforce (measures g-force, acceleration etc)

I went for the HD mainly because of the larger screen so has slightly larger buttons, although my fingers aren't too big

Saw that, but it seems to have fizzled out when needing a finishing touch.

I've got the light sabre on my Touch HD but I can see a nasty accident happening with it one day.

Escott - What does a custom ROM achieve?
Also, where did you get Tom tom from? Is it expensive?

Will have a look through the other websites later.
Thanks

iGO8 is far superior to TT on windows mobile. I have TT on an ipaq, my htc shipped with co-pilot but I replaced it with iGo and use it exclusively.
