Front of oven getting very hot...
I replaced the element in my single oven today...very straightforward process, unscrew 4 screws to take the fan plate off, unscrew 3 screws holding the element in place, unclip the 3 wires, put the new element in its place and plug the 3 wires back in.
All seemed okay but now when the oven is switched on everything is fine, when we turn the oven off the front panel and buttons get extremely hot, this has never happened before.
Basically there are 3 crocodile clips (think that's the correct term), the middle one is the earth so I switched the 2 end ones around but it's still happening.
Can anyone suggest what I may have done wrong?
Cheers

Was the element you fitted exactly the same as the one you removed. Sounds like it may be drawing too much current and overheating the control panel.
Double check the connections are clean and tight too.

To be honest the clips that connect the wires don't appear to be that tight on the new element, certainly not as tight as they were on the old one.
Can I do anything about that?
