Watchmen
Saw this last night. Very long.
I've not read the graphic novel but I'm thinking it's more for the fans of the book than your average popcorn superhero film.
There were some awesome moments in and I have to say Malin Akkerman was very very , especially when she gets naked

They cut quite alot out to get it under a certain running time. Hopefully a directors cut will be released with the rest.
I can't wait to see it either, I re-read the book a couple of Sundays ago - started a 4pm and finished just before midnight.
Without spoilers I'd like to know if the "big change" they made between the book and film actually works - if you know both you'll know what I mean.
The wife has agreed to look after a relatives twins next weekend so I'm going to make myself scarce and go watch the film.

Not seen Watchmen yet, might try and get there next week. I dunno though, most of the recent action, and certainly the comic-book movies have left me cold. I must be growing out of the market I am nearly 40

Alan Moore who i have to say is probably one of the most gifted if not the most gifted comic writers we have ever seen said it would not work on the big screen and had nothing to do with the film whatsoever.
I used to follow his work when he did V for Vendetta, and Captain Britain.
He is one of the most ecentric people going, very different, very political but a writing genius.

Had no prior knowledge of the comic book.
Suspect the film has been "watered down".
Kinda liked it though: a superhero tale with ***** and where the protagonists are every bit as human as the humans - hence their problems.
It was interesting and well done
BUT.......
It just wasn't very exciting (a fatal flaw for a superhero tale) and, I suspect, not as subtle/clever as Alan Moore would have hoped for. I think he was right, it wasn't big screen material!
Worth a look, just don't expect too much!

As above i had no knowledge of the comic book an went to see it with 12 mates on Friday evening.
The fighting scenes were good and the main lass is a stunner but i didnt really enjoy the film tbh just not for me.
The polish lad who sits next to me at work is well into his comics an from what i have told him about it he said its "VERY" watered down.
It cut out halfway through for about 3 mins an the cinema gave us all free tickets to any film after it.

Well I've been to see it tonight and I thought it was fookin' brilliant. Could have done with another forty minutes worth of character development for the common New Yorkers obliterated near the end, in order that the viewer cared about the deaths. Excellent, though.

Aye, I like how the characters were like early templates for the characters we know and love now (if you're a marvel fan).
I won't spoil it by saying names as it's too easy to do but I find the film a bit odd ball in places but I think thats how its meant to be, reflecting the time it was created in (Vietnam war, hippies etc).
Btw some brilliant musical scores in the movie

Have you read the Graphic Novel, finalzero? I must say, I can't see how Zack Snyder could possibly have made the film more true to the book, without making it twice as long. Superb effort.

she was rather good, to be fair to the film it didn't get the best start from me. My Pioneer blu-ray player wouldn't read the disc properly so I had to update software etc....and it still wouldn't work. Ended up having to bring the blu-ray player from the bedroom down and use it(5star reviewed blu-ray player bettered by one less than half its price).
Blu-ray players are feckin bollocks too.
Just put on Lethal Weapon and then turned it straight off again another pure **** movie.
