Default Types of Sales Jobs that pay over 30k a year

I am currently a sales rep for a garden giftware company and things are not going to good for my company and i would like to move on but not sure which way to go.

Which industries pay quite good money ? Any companies you can think of.

I was thinking of advertising. Yell , thomson local etc

How about Waste recycling ?

Any ideas which i could look into would be good.

Thanks

About the safest place to be at the moment is the civil service or in a company that gets a lot of it's income from the government, although even those aren't absolutes at the moment. Capita may be worth a look from the latter category.

Are you thinking 30K OTE with comission/bonus or a basic of 30K?

Vallum - whatever you do, don't tell any recruiter that you want to jump ship because the company is in trouble.

I've done loads of sales jobs - best paying (in the boom) was recruitment, worst paying but most fun was repping for a surf company.

Trouble is, very few people are doing well at the moment. Are you a new business shark or more of an account manager? Are you into high volume sales or more consultative stuff that might suit something like high end software?

If you can prove you really can sell well in the current climate, you should find a job pretty easily.

Medical sales can be good as mentioned, satellite/digital TV is booming big time, I have an engineering CAD client who seems to be kicking **** and at the other end of the scale, bicycle sales are pretty amazing at the moment!

At the moment i do 50/50 and to be honest i like both. I enjoy the trill of winning new business plus i enjoy seeing my regular customers.

Is medical sales hard to pick. I mean with all the different products etc.

I know three people in medical sales - none are super bright but they seem to do well. Very competitive though and you need to hit targets.

Don't go for a job for the perks - go for it because the products interest you.

Not really, you'll generally only be selling a maximum of three products and the training packages are very comprehensive. There are loads of recruitment agencies on the web, just give them a call and see if your interested
