Does anyone have any experience of 2 way radios. The new style of ones I was thinking of. They have a range of about 2 miles.
I'm thinking of getting a pair of them for this seasons Sprint Championship so that I can speak to my lot in the paddock when I'm waiting to compete. Last season I could have done with speaking to my "crew" who were watching what was going on track wise, spins, dropped oil etc....
I was thinking of getting the Goodmans ones as they look good !
Are they any good or a complete waste of time ???
Ta
BS.

If you're talking about PMR, then get them. I've only used mine on the Welsh Camping Trips and Lake District drives, but it's more than paid for itself . For the price they're available for now, I doubt you'd regret buying them.

Argos are doing Goodmans' PMR radio's for something like 69.99 for a pair, which seems quite good compaired to Dixsons and the like.
So long as the range is adequate then I'll get a set.
I'm sure they'll come in usefull between the cars on the way to the events.
Cheers

We bought a pair of the Motorola ones at work for keeping in tough whilst doing installs on customer sites. I just *ahem* happen to look after them now.
Really useful on meets - saves racking up the mobile bill!

We're after using them for Sprints and the like. There'll be something like 4 cars in convoy. 2 * compeition cars and 2 regular cars with spare and the days worth of general stuff.
They sound ideal to be honest and save a fortune which we spent on mobile calls last season on simple stuff like "Left after pub!"
Need someone to talk to whilst crusing down the M6 at a lowly 65mph or you are deaf (The Pug is soooooo noisy without wearing a helmet and then there's the Mk1 Escort with Straight cut box which you just have to wear earplugs )
Cheers
