Going to get a Nespresso machine
Birthday coming up so looking at the options.
Anyone got a Magimix M100 they'd care to share opinions of?
How do people find the Nespresso system/club/coffees?

As I said, I've been thinking about this since I had a cup last week.
Why have you gone for the M100?
I was going to go for something off ebay - don't want to spend loads in case we don't use it (something we do alot!)
Like this
Nespresso Magimix Coffee Maker M150 on eBay, also Coffee Machines Makers, Small Appliances, Kitchen, Home Garden (end time 10-Feb-09 21:53:57 GMT)
Typically my GF wants this one because it matches the kitchen.
NESPRESSO SYSTEM PUMP ESPRESSO COFFEE MAKER EN660R on eBay, also Coffee Machines Makers, Small Appliances, Kitchen, Home Garden (end time 20-Feb-09 19:05:15 GMT)

I was reading a review and one comment was that the nespresso can only provide a small cup (obvious I suppose but anway)
I haven't looked into it too much but I read that Dolce Gusto might be a better idea as you can make as much as you like and buy the coffee from supermarkets.

Hank,
I have one of these (Turmix)
The system is great, makes lovely, lovely coffee, is clean and efficient and I'm hooked on mine. The system of ordering by the web works great -- next day delivery for me. Best coffee I've tasted. Mine cost me about £90 and is well worth it all the way!

Looking at M100 as under a hundred and comes in colours to either match/contrast the kitchen so will keep mrs happy.
Specs seem good and from what I've read, it will dispense as much or as little as you like as you press the button to start and then again to stop (although mugs won't fit under the outlet).
Most of the capsules are espresso based so designed for short drink although you could then add milk/froth for cappuccino or latte style (or I suppose water for Americano style) but they do have some capsules designed for the longer drinks.
Cheers Frenchie - that turmix looks like it's the swiss version of the Krups we get here.

We got the Essenza which came with a coffee frother as well for about £130.00 at John Lewis so its guaranteed for 5 years too. Has a choice of 2 sizes of drink.
Nespresso were really good, one of the kids lost the whisks for the frother and they sent us out a new set FOC

Seen it as a bundle but not sure if it's worth it..? Do you use it a lot?
I think the essenza is the same as the M100

I was watching an ebay item last might that had the machine and a aerocinno which I think went for less than the price of the aerothingy alone.
Scoobydiid - what sizes are the drinks available?
I'd like one that can produce hot water on demand. That would be handy.

Yep, that's it, Aerocinno, you use it to heat the milk which uses a stirer or the spring thing to froth it. Kids love using it for frothy hot chocolate. Also means you don't need to heat the milk up in a pan.
Not sure on drink size, I usually do the larger of the two which gives a mug full of reasonable strength coffee, if I want a good hit I just use two capsules.
You can get hot water out of it by just not using a capsule, my wife does it to warm the cup up first, also they say you should do that every so often to clean it out.

I have the Magimix M200 and find it really good, the less parts to clean the more you will use it.
The M200 has a built in frother (SP?), very simple. After your done, eject capsule, run some water through into a mug to clean the outlet, wipe the nozzle (if you've used it) and then go drink your coffee.
A friend of ours has a much more expensive machine with built in milk container, and doesn't use it as often as it takes a bit longer to clean.
Also bare in mind these machines are not ideally suited to making multiple cups, 3-4 is fine any more and it takes too long.

we got one at christmas (m100) with the aerocino from John Lewis. Special £30 offer back (not sure if this is still running).
We love it. Ordered 200 capsules (cheaper postage) and use it most days - lattes, cappucinos and espressos. V. easy to use, V. easy to keep clean.
You can only buy the descaler from the Nespresso club (the daft bint in John Lewis said we could buy it from the JL store ) so don't forget to order some when getting your pods

Really easy to clean. It comes as a separate little machine - so you need 2 plug sockets . There are 2 'whisks' one for cappucino and one for lattes. The one you are not using is stored in the lid.
Marked inside for milk levels, you simply fill it up dependent on which coffee you want, hit the button and wait - it doesn't take long. It heats/froths the milk.
To clean simply rinse the inside out - you cannot immerse the jug unit in water because of the electrical bits. Job done

I did look online at reviews etc before we got ours - was a bit worried as some people said the coffee machines didnt get the coffee hot enough.. absolute rubbish
If you want to have the coffee hot for a little longer, simply warm the cup first - but tbh it's steaming anyway so I dont bother
The Nespresso club seems quite good - I didnt know which descaler to buy so emailed them, expecting an answer in a few days - 20 mins later.. and I had a courtesy phone call on Friday to ask how we were getting on with the machine - and if we had any concerns or questions .. good levels of customer services are rare these days

The whole system is excellent and is backed up by exceptional customer service. Depending on where you live you may be able to by capsule from a local boutique, but the online service is very good.
Purists and snobs complain sneer at them but for convenience they can't be beat. Literally within seconds in the morning you can have an above average coffee without any messing around.
