Social networking sites
I have been using the Internet now since the early 90s, I am a long time user of Usenet, I can even remember using Prestel, I work in the web industry and am more likely to turn to the web to find anything out about anything.
However I have never ever felt the need or desire to join a social networking site like MySpace, Facebook or the likes.
A friend of mine is a MySpace fanatic, when I looked at it with her every single user seemed to have a page that was a complete multi coloured mess with images, text and scrolling slideshows, audio clips etc. slapped all over the place. As well as that the software seemed poorly written, clunky and had frequent 404 page not found issues.
Then there is the 'you have 60 billion imaginary friends' thing.
It just seems a bit sad to me. I know that probably people would say I am equally sad for hanging out on a car forum.... and they may be right LOL!
So am I the only person not on MySpace or Facebook etc. ?

I'm on Facebook, but I generally don't go on there, just use it to keep in touch with friends who have moved away.
I don't understand how people can spend hours on them and do stuff like throw sheep or snowballs?
Geezer

Nope, you're not alone. They could quite easily put all those sites under one banner www.attentionseekers.com and have sub sections according to the amount of attention they seek.
