Default Why do ITV feel the need to apologise?

Am i missing something (other than a goal).

ITV have apologised to the FA, fans, etc for the goal being scored during scheduled advertising.

WTF!

Because the advertising was supposed to be delayed until after the extra time. The automated system kicked in when it shouldn't have . . .

It was hardly a life or death matter, and I'm a fan. I always need to watch the action replays anyway!

Totally agreed, I was a nerve-racking enough game as it was without this screw-up

The FA / Liverpool / Everton should apologise for serving up the previous 118 minutes of complete pish .

The ITV automated system was obviously trying to wake everybody up !

I feel its the FA that should apologise to the viewers for just accepting ITV's highest bid rather than those from more professional broadcasters. Everything is mediocre about ITV's football, from the presenters to the pundits to the producers.

The FA might realise that the highest bid may not produce the most revenue if the media coverage isn't up to scratch - no wonder ITV are apologising!

Me too.

Sadly that is the way football is treated in the UK, like a religion.

Mr Gray said: "Such a comment is really a reflection on Jeremy Clarkson and speaks for itself.

"Most people here are proud that the prime minister is a Scot and believe him to be the right person to get the UK through this global economic crisis."
Mr Gray is the one making wholly unfounded comments. Absolutely no basis in fact to say "most people". The man was never elected to be PM. (and even then a >50% majority of the electorate would be rare)

shocking that they picked Liverpool V everton again. Played 3 times in as many weeks on TV, they could have gave another team a chance.

Surely they apologised for their incompetence in allowing that ad to go out at the wrong time. In doing so they spoiled that goal for all those viewers. It was the least they could do under the circumstances.

In the intervals yes, not randomly in the middle of the game.

Intervals? You mean half time? Or do they have more than one interval?

When its a second leg cup game there's potential extra time and penalties, yes, more than one interval. They don't go to ad breaks in the middle of a half, which is what happened here, 2 minutes from time.

UK is basically awash with cringeing apologists, why should ITV and Clarkson be any different?

I read that they cut to a break due to 'technical problems'. I don't buy that though - they mentioned 'transmitters'...

Also its odd, as most live OB trucks have an EVS or MAV machine - its a bit like SKY+ as you can 'pause' live action. It's what you use to 'do' a break in live shows...

Very odd state of affairs really and TOTALLY unforgivable.
