Does Your House Have a Name?
Top 5 Home Names
1. Rose Cottage
2. The Cottage
3. The Barn
4. The Coach House
5. The Bungalow
I have not been one for House Names ..... but, I guess, if I owned a house with a Sea View ...... 'SeaView' would seem appropriate - if a little tweeee!

All houses should be numbered with the exception of small villages where there is 3 houses in a half mile stretch of road If a postcode has more than 5 houses, they should be numbered imo.

We used to have a chalet in Switzerland that was called 'straf' . No one questioned it until you read it backwards
well it was better than its actual name of 22b
the other place we had was called 'sawadee' as we used to live in Thailand for many years.
apart from that our place in Windsor is just called plain old
Castle

Queen Victoria apparently bought some fruit from here once (an ex working Nursery/smallholding)! It's called [Village name] Nursery.

A friend of my dad's named his house "Passing Wind", and it was like that for 6 months until my dad visited and cracked up.

I grew up in a house with a name, but I can only afford a number myself.....
Ive never understood why people add names to houses that have numbers: no one cares and the post office dont recognise them, so why bother?

My house has a name. And if you look at this postcode there are 20/30 houses in our little village/hamlet, none of which have a number. Postie seems to do fine though.
Dave
PS: though why it's named after a village about 15 miles away I don't know .....
