Default chainsaw help?

Hi, I have been down cutting a number of large trees, but my saw is now officially getting on my ****.
On anything up to about 25cm diameter, its fine, but for cutting bigger stuff, as the cut decends, it curves to the right. Initially, I thought I wasnt sharpening the chain evenly - perhaps one sides teeth were cutting better than the other? Ruled that out now as I fitted a brand new chain today and it still does it. The only other thing I can think is that the guide is bent, but I have checked it with a steel rule for curve both across and along its length and it seems fine.

What else could be causing this? Its really annoying me, as when I cut large trunks, I cut from one side, then cut from the other but the cuts never meet up.
Thanks,

the saw should pull itself really, are you putting pressure on it? if you are it may be forcing it.

is the chain tensioned correctly?

yeah, it pulls itself through the cut with no real pressure needed as it should do, but still insists on curving.
I will have a look at that site now, thanks.

Have you turned the guide upside down? Its a good idea to do that every now & again.

As puff says every time you sharpen or change the chain, the bar should be reversed, this enables the burr on the top of the bar to even out. Occasionally you need to take a flat file to the bars edges to remove the burrs completely.
What you describe is know as a banana bar, and usually means you have pinched/trapped it badly at some point, and the only solution really is a new one.
