Nokia N70 too slow...replacement suggestions:)
Help needed as mobiles are a bit beyond me LOL
My 13 year old has a second hand Nokia N70 for use as an emergency phone 'cos he goes to and from school quite a way on the bus. It's been very useful for breakdowns / snow / ice / accidents etc so we know when he's going to be late.
But for the most part it's used to take photo's, blue tooth smutty (for a 13 year old) pics etc but it's painfully slow...even when I trawl through it for content
Any suggestions for a faster replacement.....
Cheers
Shaun

Have you not tried updating the software from Nokia? I have the N81 and it too was a little on the slow side, but with a software update you do yourself, this has become quicker. The software updater can be downloaded from Nokia - Nokia on the Web, of course you will need the data lead for your PC to do this. Failing that the N73 is supposed t be a good replacement for the N70. Or even try another up-to-date non N-Series Nokia, for example the Nokia 6500.

I had an N70 and ditched it after two months. I was TERRIBLE.
Been SE ever since - a W850i and as of last week, the utterly superb C905.
I currently hate Nokias having had them for 10 years - when they used to be good.

if you use the nss (nokia updater) then it is more or less foolproof. Just make sure the battery is fully charged beforehand.
I had a N73 and that was slow, but I changed the software version on that and it improved it no end, just done it recently with my current N96 (went sony between the n73 and n96)
