sorry but I think it's sad - I fail to see how they can give medals to people who are clearly not athletes (although watching that fat biff crashing on the Luge was funny!).

let's face it - the country will go mad and get all excited about a gold medal but it's effectively for bowls on ice. they'll be having darts in the olympics next......

Hello my name is Nick and I actually enjoyed watching the curling.

(I feel better now I've said that)

I thought it was a damn good game, and enjoyed watching it once I'd worked out the rules, etc. There's loads of strategy in the game. Subtle game, excellent final, and superb result!

Gordo - go boil your head!

How's about you try and do the brushing for a 10 end game, lasting about 150 minutes. Ok they're not running a marathon, but they do a lot of training to maintain their fitness.

Can we not just be happy we got some medals?

Think you'll find that any funding they got was from a Scottish sports council. So that'll leave plenty of money for your rowing, horse jumping etc. All great sports I'm sure you'll agree.

Anytime

Just out of interest, what is it that annoys you?

I'm not a curler myself, but still thought it was good viewing.

....I thought sports were s'posed to be athletic and for people to train for...all ya gotta do with curling is lob a lump of granite down the ice and sweep infront of it....
...hope they're proud of their 15 mins of fame...

Question

Congrats to our team.... BUT....

Come on Curling... a sport..... what will be next??

Welcome to Olympic Bowls??????

Or Olympic Darts??

Or Olympic Snooker??

Not saying that they are not highly skilled, and no I could not do it... but come-on..... its not really a sport is it??

Would you really put them on the same level (of athletic prowess, not skill) as the skiers or the hockey players?? I think not.

Haha - would Mikeswagon be one of the in-bred jocks that is therefore both related to the middle aged bints that go ice bowling and enjoyed it as a wee young fella in the coucil estates?

never mind mate, don't be too jealous of the wealthy horsey types, just keep scrubbing your front step and you'll be fit enough for the curling olympics in no time.......

I wouldn't exactly call horse riding a sport either , but I'd like to know why rowing annoys you sooooooo much Rich? Probably one of the toughest sports there is.

BTW -
100M - run really quickly for 10 seconds
Curling - brush really quickly for 30 seconds. Certainly looks harder to me

What got me was the commentators apologising for over simplifying the rules to those in the know - then proceeding to explain bugger all!

Its dead boring to watch isn't it? Untill the last 3 ends - and that was only because of the tension of the occasion..even I was screaming at the last stone - let alone foghorn skip

Well done the Scots! Have to say the TV volume was down very low at the end.

Loved the commentators vision of curling being demanded in all corners of Britain, ice rinks investing in curling etc - yeah right! More chance of Kuwait entering the skeleton I'd say!

That Fiona was a bit of a cutie..LOL

Boiling it didn't work then? Still, with that empty cavity you should at least have raised a good head of steam. Tea anyone?

Think you're confusing me with Rab C Mikeswagon from Govan. We didn't have coucil, or even council estates where I was brought up.
We do have an open air curling rink funnily enough, only seen it frozen over a few times though.

Jealous of the horsey types? Well I'll admit the jodhpurs and riding boots do something for me, but that's as far as it goes.

Have a nice weekend.

Mike.

ps. Justin - I thought Fiona was a bit of a cutie as well.

Richard Askew.

Are you British? If not mate f*ck off to Tasmania,. You epitomise the poison that is growing in this country.
Lets face it, rally drivers only sit behind the car all day turning the wheel don't they?

I cannot believe I am reading that you called them w4nkers. I also cannot believe that you are a moderator.

You are a disgrace to yourself and this BBS.
