Geodesy False Alarms?
#1
Hi,
I recently got a Geodesy, I'm disappointed by the false alarms I'm getting.
For example, on the M62 from Leeds to Liverpool at junction 12 I get all 10 red lights lit in 3 successive warnings within 1/2 a mile, however there is no camera at all in sight.
Does anyone else have similiar issues at all?
thanks,
greg

Defo no SPECS up in the sky around there?
The M62 used to be a SPECs hot spot around the M6 junction.
I've been having grief trying to update my unit recently though. I keep getting "No Carrier" reported.

Up to about three weeks ago their were GATSO's at Junction 12 on M60/M62.
I think you just have to put up with the false alarms until they remove them from the database which they only seem to do when they're sure they are not coming back. The J12 cameras were taken away at the start of December, but returned the second week in Jan.
I would be more worried if it didn't find a well established camera that was there, so far mine's found every single one no problem.
Regards,
tiggers.

I get a similar problem on the M25 between the M40 and M4. I'm well below 70 due to traffic and the unit goes from nothing to mental every few hundred yards.

M25 Variable speed limit is extended out to the M40 now ! So there are cameras on some of the gantries there !
They so seem to mark every single gantry as a camera even though they arent !
Also if a camera has been removed, call Morpheus ! they cant remove it if they dont know its gone !

M4 and M5 have the same problems.. The camera's were removed months ago - butn Morpheus obviously cant be arsed to remove them from its database. As such I no longer plug the thing in for most of my travelling....
Laser Jammers are a much better device. Though the Morpheus will surely prove its worth once Specs and front facing camera's become more and more prominent - so I'm not disappointed with the purchase because of this and would not want to put people off with the statement above - I'd have still bought it cos of Specs

Scooby2000, spot on.
I rung up Morpheous yesterday for some help. The problem was I did an update on the morning of 24th Jan before I went out that day. The update was corrupt, so my unit didn't work whilst I was out. You got GPS lock-on (blue light) but no camera alerts.
I updated it again that night which made things work but that update didn't have the phone number for future downloads. Hence back it goes for fixing.
Now do I bother getting the Plus update whilst it's there? Maybe I should ask for it at a discount rate as it's their fault it his to go back?

I emailed Geodesy, they emailed me back asking for a serial number, I did an update this am, and then coming over the M62 this pm, no more false alarms at jn 12
So the message is contact them if you get false alarms
