I suspect this will be the last ever series.
Another pair of Nu Labour voting muppets who borrowed beyond their means into 'the dream' - another million quid of debt they will to pay back on their modest incomes, assuming neither is made redundant (highly likely given their lines of work)
How much money will they have lost..... 26K on a bat sanctuary for example

And of course - mid project - there's the new baby on the way... that other 'must have' fashion accessory..
These sort of people are ridiculous ...

Probably part of the audition to ask, "are you ******** for a baby?".

The thousands they squandered on unnecessarily expensive walkways, double glazed hi tech, excessive glass panelling etc... crazy...
Financially they are completely FUBARed

Maybe they've got money (or came into it), to spend 400k on a ruin on a documented landslip site may indicate it wasn't mortgaged. To budget ANOTHER 400k on top for renovations and double up on accommodation for a couple of years also takes funding of the type that banks might not be providing.

I think they have a checklist for the people for these programmes:
Stupid
London types
Loaded, or have the ability to borrow extreme amounts of money
Carbon footprint savvy
Pretentious
Not living in the real world
Anything missing?

On my Sky box ready to watch tomorrow.
I do love Grand Designs but I hope this doesn't go all eco like the last series.
Can't stand the mud-hut builds!
GD needs to go back to the listed build/castle/barn conversions. That's what "Grand" Designs are!

LOL, does it help some on here to think they may be in financial ruin?
Your secretly jealous of what they own (have achieved), but it makes you feel better thinking that they are worse off than you?
Dream on gypos.

I'm not sure it's me trying too hard.
I watched the program and enjoyed it. I never sat there and thought my a financial mess they must be in.
What I did think was, what council worker would object to the windows being used, when the previous windows were all smashed? Surely any window would have improved the property....even your cheapest UPV white things.

Lol, to be fair, by the end of the show it was obvious they were minted anyway though.
It was impressive from an engineering/technical pov, i liked their frickin lazer cut flooring and the finish of the glazing but from an aesthetic/artistic pov the place left me cold (as it will them in the winter )

...I'd swap with mine!
Another thing I thought about was who cleans these places? I mean, that place would get a lot of dust on the glass, finger prints from kid, cobwebs on the stone..and it's huge?
....and if you had a dump in the en suite, you can't shut the door to keep the stench at bay
